Direction is either 1 or -1.

Direction is either 1 or -1. There's no half-wrong nor half-right direction.

Eating junky food is -1. A step backward. Going to the gym is 1. It's a step forward.

Staying up late is -1. Having a regular sleeping schedule is 1, etc.

Direction, being -1, completely nullifies speed. To put it in other words, it doesn't matter how fast you execute the wrong thing. You'll just arrive at the wrong place before anyone else.

Strive to collect 1's in as many areas of life as possible.

Doing even a single pushup a day is 1. Not doing it is...well, you get the idea.

But also, do not underestimate -1's. They have the nasty property of being sticky and viral. You do these here and there, and suddenly, your whole day turns into one big -1.

Do not allow this to happen at any cost.
